The holidays are a particularly difficult time for homebound seniors who live alone and have no family close by or at all. Many will receive no invitations to any dinners or family get togethers.
Episcopal Senior Communities is addressing this problem with its award winning Senior Center Without Walls program. Using 800 numbers, lonely seniors are able to join groups of other seniors just like themselves over the phone for free. It's a little difficult to imagine a Thanksgiving or Christmas party over the phone, but we make it happen every year. On a daily basis seniors are able to call in and participate in an assortment of free classes and support groups.
This is what a few seniors have said about Senior Center Without Walls:
I feel like I am with people and part of a community.
I have new friends and something to belong to.
It brings joy. You don't get as lonely with this program.
Meet Some of our Donors
The donors you see featured have designated their gifts to this program and/or other programs Episcopal Senior Communities sponsors. We will be happy to talk with you about any of our programs or about ways deferred gifts can be used to dramatically increase your income, to protect that income from inflation, and to leave a larger inheritance to your heirs.
If you have questions, please contact Bill Tanner, Executive Director, at 925-956-7447, btanner@jtm-esc.org, or Karen Huff, Associate Director of Fund Development, at 925-956-7448, khuff@jtm-esc.org. Links to reach us may be found under the Meet the Staff button on the left. Welcome to Episcopal Senior Communities Foundation!
